The Institute has a long standing research programme within the Politics, Languages and International Studies Department (POLIS) that incorporates the previous research centre on ‘Technology and War’. Our current work in this area includes:

  • UN Cyber Norms

  • Cyber diplomacy

  • Technology and the rise of boundless warfare

  • Transformation of Transatlantic Counter-Terrorism

  • Towards effective national and international cyber security for space infrastructure

  • Exploring the bi-directional relationship between CSIRTs and norms for responsible state behaviour in cyberspace
