Emerging and Future Technologies

Many of our researchers have an interest in new and emerging digital technologies, including not only the security, privacy and trust issues they pose, but also in their development, use in research and techniques for studying their adoption and potential social impact. Our current work includes:

• Artificial Intelligence (AI) and issues of trust, transparency, fairness - as well as securing AI (and the use of AI in security)

• Surveillance technologies in the workplace

• Sensor technology and wearables: privacy aspects, and their use as research tools

• The adoption of new technologies (e.g. memory safe semi-conductors and languages)
